In my house, mirabilis grows in a pot, but today it practically does not bloom, it reveals only 1-2 flowers. He has already lost his decorativeness, but still takes up a lot of space, so I want to dig it up for the winter. And in connection with this I had the following question: is it possible to somehow “put to sleep” mirabilis? Maybe just crop it?

Answers:

Natalia Nikolaevna, cut the stems at a height of 8-12 cm from the root neck. Then dig up the tubers, dry them in a well-ventilated room, remove the damaged and dead parts (if there are any, of course) and send them to a permanent storage place. For example, my mirabilis is stored in the hallway under the closet.
